It was thought that a tree planted outside a house kept witches at bay and protected the house from lightning.
Cutting it back was said to bring bad luck. You were supposed to ask the tree if it minded being cut?
In olden days, almost all of the Elder tree was used in various mixtures and compounds.
Today, it is said to help keep colds away.

Method.

Use 1 heaped tablespoon per cup required. (2g)

Place in pot.

Add boiling water.

Allow to infuse for 5 – 8 minutes.
Strain into a cup and enjoy
