Carob Pods/ Locust Beans
These Carob Pod pieces are rather sweet and have a slight chocolate flavour (Carob powder is a chocolate substitute).
Used for many thousands of years, the Locust bean is still widely used today as a thickening agent and stabiliser in many food products-such as mayonnaise.
Ideal to eat this as a snack, as the pods are pleasant to chew.
There is sometimes an initial ‘odour’ to these, but it is not noticable once you begin chewing.
